Japan by Mario

lundi 21 janvier 2008

Hello, My name is Mario and I’d like to tell you about Japan because it’s a very beautiful country :

Japan is a little country which has more than three thousand islands along the Pacific, near China. It’s an archipelago and the territory has four main Islands : Honshū, Hokkaidō, Kyūshū and Shikoku.
The population is huge : 127 million inhabitants for this small country.
And the capital Tokyo has 9 million people.
Japan’s rapid economic development has led to rapid social changes. The Japanese have a healthy diet so their average life expectancy is 81 years.

Japan is among the wealthiest countries in the world
It’s a constitutional monarchy with a president and an Emperor but the Emperor is just a symbol for the country, he has no power.

Their flag represents the sun because it’s the country of the rising sun (the sun rises in the East).

The main religions are Shinto, Buddhism and christian (christian’s religion was brought by the European, the first person who brought this religion in Japan was François Xavier and his crew)

Japan has created a lot of martial arts like : karate,aikido,judo...
The main Japanese traditional food are composed of : rice, fish, soya and seaweed (sushi, ramen ...)
They use chopsticks to eat.
The Japanese money is the Yen.
They like reading mangas (like me) : Dragonball (a huge success in the world), Naruto, bleach ...
Mangas are Japanese comics but we read it from right to left
They can talk about fight, love, students, science fiction...
